Daisy Birthing antenatal classes for central Cambridge

Our Cambridge Antenatal and active birth teacher and Daisy Birthing® mentor Karen originally trained to lead our relaxed active birth sessions in Mildenhall, Ely and Newmarket.  However, following an unexpected house move, has turned her focus to the central Cambridge postcodes CB1-5 and CB8.  She will shortly be launching  weekly antenatal classes,which are ideal for 1st time mums-to-be or mummies having 2nd/3rd /4th/5th babies and a great way to relax, to meet other mums, to work on preparing the body for a good birth and also to build birth confidence.  Whilst our classes are movement based we are subtely different from traditional active birth and/or pregnancy yoga, meaning even those suffering with SPD can attend our gentle rhythmic sessions.  Mums love the use of music and rhythm and really feel they tune into the rhythm of labour (something they can practise at home too, when our i-phone app launches on 16th September 2011).

Karen has already led hugely popular workshops within the grunds of RAF Lakenheath and impressed the onsite staff so much, she has been asked to return on a regular basis.  The ladies attending loved our 'move to improve' approach and the way we aim to make birth movements and birth confidence inherent, by linking antenatal education to an affirmation or to a key birth education point ... so much more than what they expected from a pregnancy movement class!

Karen is currently researching the Cambridge area and welcomes any contact from mums-to-be living in Cambridge and keen to see a class in their own postcode!  She has already been accepted to join the Midwifery Services Liaison Committee for the Rosie hospital and feels this is such a great way to be involved in the planning and implementation to improve services for the maternity department and to help keep her own Daisy Birthing class mums in the loop of what is coming up in the hospital.  As regular visitors to our site will know, we really value communication and keep in touch with all mums via virtual teaching classrooms - watch out for the Cambridge group!

Watch out for Daisy Birthing classes too featured in Mothercare in Cambridge, where Karen will be spending time within the Grafton Centre store talking to the pregnant mums of Cambridge.  Dates of her visits will be published here soon!

Karen's weekly antenatal classes retail at just £54 per  6-week block, but for the first term in CB1-5 and CB8 (and whilst Karen is finalising her teaching practise to gain final FEDANT accreditation) classes are on special offer at just £40 per 6-week block.  In addition by working in association with a photographers in Cambridge, any new mums who sign up on the weekly Cambridge classes with Karen will receive a £150 free photo shoot for them and their baby plus  a free picture of their choice. 

Karen is also in disucssion to bring our popular antenatal classes to the Cambridge Sure Start centres once a month, so watch this space!
