moreAfter 7 years of huge success in the UK, Lazy Daisy and the Daisy Birth methods are now available in Australia both in the state of Victoria and in New South Wales.

Over 1500 mums to be every week enjoy the Daisy Birthing techniques in the UK and intensive couples active-birth workshops, and we look forward to seeing similar success here in Australia, as we invite mums-to-be from 14 weeks gestation through to 40 weeks to come along and enjoy our unique relaxed-active birth movement programme.
If you like the thought of gentle pregnancy movement but struggle with traditional pregnancy yoga (perhaps you are a mum suffering with pelvic girdle pain) .... if you want to learn active birth positions, understand how to use breathing techniques and think about movements and props to support your birth .... or if you feel you need a big boost of confident for your upcoming birth and want to enjoy a series of anxiety releasing pregnancy relaxations, the Daisy Birth Methods could be just what you are looking for!
We hope you enjoy exploring our Australia antenatal pages and also the rest of this site - there are lots of birth stories from around the world to be found in the blog section and throughout the site, so do feel free to browse and to join our international birth community!

... as mother and daughter teaching team Aretha and Courtney join our antenatal and baby programme, to launch Daisy Birthing® weekly classes and workshops (closely followed by Daisy Baby sessions) throughout the Victoria State (Australia) and focused around Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsular, Bayside and surrounding areas. Aretha has 6 children of her own and Courtney, her youngest daughter, has 1 (and has also had the priviledge of being present at a birth as a birth partner too), so between them they have taken part in 8 births! Plus between them they also have qualifications in anatomy and physiology and even psychology.
When asked why Lazy Daisy, daughter Courtney Vinson replies:-
"I want to offer women the opportunity to learn empowering techniques to have positive pregnancy and birth outcomes". Mum Aretha agrees and adds "I am passionate about education, women's birth choice and the right to positive outcomes ... to be able to give women and their partners such tools would be a dream realised for me as well as to set up a successful business with my own daughter."
We know from talking to mums-to-be out there, that our movement and relaxation classses will be a welcome addition to the santenatal and pregnancy ervices already on offer in Victoria, Australia and with our active birth and antenatal classes being so accessible (we welcome all mums, regardless of the planned birth journey), we look forward to seeing Lazy Daisy (Victoria) quickly grow and develop.
Further details will appear here very soon. You can also visit the Australia specifc pages of our site at www.lazydaisyaustralia.com or contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. When maternity and midwifery assistant (and mum of three) Aliy contacted us to tell us she was leaving the UK for sunnier climes in Brisbane Australia, we jumped at the opportunity for her to take the Daisy Birthing® programme and methods over to mums to be in the Deception Bay, Mango Hill, North Lakes and Kallangur areas.
Aliy will begin teaching weekly antenatal and birth preparation classes later this year (early 2013) and will complete her training through both UK and Australia teaching practise.
She is keen to help mums to be access a real community service, so that they can draw support from each other whilst they enjoy pregnancy movement, birth breathing and active birth education - and that after all, is what Lazy Daisy is all about; Peer to Peer support for mums to be - not replacing the midwife, but giving a real 'I've been there and understand' approach to antenatal education.
